A13 Cruiser Mk IV modified

Both the A9 and the A10 were considered slow for the Cruiser role and so the revolutionary Christie suspension was acquired to develop a more nimble tank.  This resulted in the A13 Cruiser Mk.III.  The chassis proved good enough to allow development and a number of minor modifications were incorporated, most noticably spaced, angled armour panels for the turret.  This model has been further modified with a box structure protecting the mantlet.  In this configuration they were used by 1st Armoured Division with the British Expeditionary Force in France, 1940.
