Corps Reconnaissance Regiments, NW Europe

Actions like the Inns of Court’s push deep inland on D-Day were crucial to the success of the landings but many commentators ignore their role.  Every advance had flank cover provided by these units but their feats are often little more than footnotes.  It is hoped that this set goes some way to reminding modelmakers of their contribution to the Normandy campaign.
The Four Corps Recce Regiments in Normandy were operated independently of the British armoured divisions, though in almost all circumstances served alongside a specific division.  In August ‘44 they were absorbed into these divisions.
Considering the prestigious nature of the units concerned, researching the actions and vehicles of the Reconnaissance units is not easy.  Consequently, the marking in the set are more generic than we usually prefer.  There are, though, a couple of specific vehicles picked out in the designs.
