Typ 677 Casemate

The Typ 677 emplacement was designed for the 8.8cm Pak 43/41 anti-tank gun.  They were used in pairs, facing one another about 800 metres apart with the slanted protection wall on their seaward side.  In this way they provided mutual support with enfilade fire along a large section of beach.

The model comprises 23 parts cast in resin by Accurate Armour.  The master was built by Derek Hansen based on plans created by Dan Taylor.  Measurements were made from the Typ 677 just to the west of the harbour at Courseulles in Normandy.
