Belgian Gates - set of 3
In a belated attempt to protect their borders, the Belgians produced these makeshift structures. The intention was that they be attached to one another in long lines (see pre-war picture, right) so that they slowed the enemy long enough to engage them with artillery. The events of May 1940 suggest they were not entirely successful. However, when the Germans were building the Atlantik Wall, they used a great number to bolster their beach defences.
This set provides three Belgian Gate sets. Each one comprises 57 etched brass parts plus three resin rollers. They have all the fittings to allow a number to be attached as originally intended. Illustrated instructions accompany the set.
