Carrier Deep Wading Screens
The redoubtable Universal Carrier was a major component of many units which took part in the Normandy landings and so it was essential to make them better able to disembark from landing craft into potentially deep water. A set of steel panels with locking stakes was created, significantly raising the profile of the vehicle.
This set faithfully reproduces the panels in 1/76 scale for addition to either the Airfix or Milicast Carriers. It comprises 19 etched brass parts. The panel in front of the driver was quickly removable once the landing had been made and many crews seem to have retained the higher sides so that the vehicle could carry more stowage.
