Cruiser Mk IV Conversion Set
Almost as soon as the original Cruiser Mk III was produced it was recognized that the armour was inadequate for the task. This, and a number of other less noticeable improvements were made and this became the Cruiser Mk IV. The upgrade programme was set up but by then the War had started and both Mk III and Mk IV standard tanks were sent to France with the BEF, including Mk IIIs that had additional armour packs applied. After withdrawal from France, the Cruiser Mk IV remained in service in the UK and was also sent to the Middle East (see the Cruiser Mk IVA Conversion set).
This set converrts the excellent S-Model kit of the A13 to Mk IV standard. Resin parts include the turret armour panels, later pattern commander's cupola, openable loaders hatch, a box mantlet and an alternative 'axle' mantlet, plus all the parts provided in the Cruiser Mk III Upgrade set. In brass, we provide a new turret front, parts for the drivers hatch so that it can be displayed open, air filter details and dust guards.
