Humber Scout Car Mk I

The Rootes Group began production of a Scout Car based on the chassis of their Light Reconnaissance car in 1942, as an alternative to the Daimler Dingo Scout Car.  It did not reach front line service until 1944 when it was employed in the liaison role by all armoured units that took part in the invasion of Northwest Europe.  It went on to be used in Italy, and after the war by other by a number of Nations.

This all new injection moulded plastic kit is the first designed in-house by Modelworks.  It contains 62 finely detailed parts that build into a precise reproduction of the original vehicle, based on measurements of a restored vehicle. This is a limited run model with only 1,000 units to be made.

To be offered in five versions, this boxing includes precise markings (decals) for two Humber Scouts: A vehicle of Tactical Headquarters, 29th Armoured Brigade, 11th Armoured Division; and a vehicle of HQ Squadron, 7th Royal Tank Regiment, 31st Armoured Brigade.
