RM Armoured Support Group
This transfer set covers a fascinating, if obscure, unit formed to provide fire support for Operation Overlord. The RMASG was not originally intended to land on D-Day and were not even allocated drivers until General Montgomery found out about the omission and had it changed. Their craft were the first to beach on all of the British and Canadian beaches. Though ordered not to go more than one mile from the beaches, there are records of the unit’s vehicles operating ten miles inland. Their usefulness was such that they were kept in theatre for up to 15 days, far more than was originally intended.
The set comprises markings for two Centaurs and a Sherman command tank from the unit.
