Sand Channels
The variable going in the deserts of North Africa meant that vehicles needed to be well equipped. Soft sand, in particular, presented major problems, especially for units like the LRDG and SAS, operating on the edges of the Libyan sand sea. Though field-made solutions were tried, a manufactured version was soon adopted. The structure was pressed steel and so was heavy for many vehicles. To conserve weight, a perforated version was also developed.
This set provides two of each type of the 5-foot five inch channel. It is made of etched brass so as to most closely resemble the original construction.
