Sherman Crab Conversion

Possibly the most iconic of ‘Hobart’s Funnies’, the Sherman Crab was the culmination of a line of British mine clearance vehicles, made famous for the part it played in the D-Day landings. 79th Armoured Division had three Regiments of Sherman Crabs for its part in the campaign in Northwest Europe: 22nd Dragoons, 1st Lothian & Border Horse, and the Westminster Dragoons. All were part of 30th Armoured Brigade, though they usually operated separately, supporting different areas of the front line.

This kit comprises 18 resin parts, 32 etched brass parts (plus 108 flail chains, so plenty of spares) and some plastic rod.  The instructions are designed to clearly show how to replicate this complicated tank.  Though illustrated on the new Airfix 1/72 Sherman, the set works on both Dragon and UM kits of the Sherman V (M4A4)
