Villers-Bocage, the truth behind the myth DVD
Using their collection of veteran interviews as a base, the Sharpshooters Yeomanry Association sought funding from the National Lottery to create a documentary of the famous battle. As a member of the Regimental Association I adapted my battlefield tour to tell the story using the veterans accounts. The documentary was shot in and around Villers-Bocage with help from Henri Marie, the local historan and other town residents. Further filming took place at the Tank Museum, Bovington, including on their original Tiger tank.
The DVD presentation is 50 minutes long and gives a fresh, new look at the battle from the standpoint of those who fought there. It was filmed in HD by Rave Productions in 2006
